RICHARD TIMMONS NAMED EMCON CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

OTTAWA, ONTARIO-January 16, 2006-Peter Doig, President and CEO of EMCON, today announced that Richard Timmons has joined EMCON in the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Timmons will be responsible for the company’s business strategy and overall operational management of EMCON.

Timmons brings 30 years experience managing companies in the security and computer communications sectors. Most recently, he headed business development, marketing and sales activities for VoIPshield. He also held positions as CEO of Intelligent Photonics Control, Entrepreneur in Residence for Ventures West and Chief Scientific Officer and General Manager of CyberSafe Corporation. Timmons was Founder and CEO of SAGUS Security Inc. and Founder and VP of DOMUS Software Ltd.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer, holds a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics.

Announcing the appointment, Peter Doig stated, “Richard has tremendous experience managing companies in the technology sector. This appointment reflects reorganization planned to improve operational efficiency and streamline our management structure.
